The first record I bought was 'A message to you Rudy' by The Specials. I was 11 years old and it signalled the beginning of my love affair with music that would span the next 3 decades.

I got my first break into djing when I was only 18 years old. I'd been working at the fashionable men's clothes shop ‘Hip’ in Thornton's Arcade Leeds where I had exaggerated both my talents and the size of my record collection to an extent. The manager there also happened to be a club promoter and when one of his dj's cancelled at the last minute he asked me to fill in. Both thrilled and petrified I immediately accepted. That was the night I warmed up for Norman Jay and I’ve never looked back.

Soon afterwards I secured a weekly residency at Digby's nightclub in Leeds. The night was called 'The Juice' and I was ecstatic to finally be playing my records to a captive audience. In the years that followed I played and held residencies in some of the best bars and clubs in Yorkshire including Speed Queen, Basics, Magic and the Faversham. My style of djing has always been described as eclectic, anything goes for me and I like to pitch it right up and then drop it back down again to keep the vibe interesting. The great thing is that people seem to really like my taste in music and the way I put a set together. I like to mix the old with the new across different genres and era’s and I am constantly sourcing new music to keep the sound fresh and modern.

In 1998 I was approached by the Fruit Cupboard who were looking for a new club night with a different vibe from all the others being promoted in Leeds at the time. About a month later my very own night 'Frisco Disco' was born. It ran for the next 5 years and the club was packed to capacity every Friday night. Eventually, I took the night to many of the major club's back rooms such as Back 2 Basics, De-Ja-Vu, and Mission.

I currently hold the Friday night residency at Norman Bar, Call Lane as well as playing guest slots and hosting my own Northern soul nights. I feel truly privileged to have been a successful dj for nearly 18 years. To be able to do something I have such a passion for and to make people's nights in the process really is a dream come true for that 11 year old boy who saved all his pocket money to buy his first record so many years ago.

Each event I am booked for receives my personal attention, and includes a pre-event consultation and visit to the venue location.

You can either leave the music choice entirely up to me, specify your favourite genre(s) or we can develop a bespoke playlist together that is tailored to your exact requirements. With a collection of over 20,000 records, CD's and MP3's I can play any style of set that you require or freestyle, reading and responding to the particular audience. My state of the art sound and lighting system can be adapted to suit any audience from fifty to five hundred guests, at any venue indoor or outdoor.

With the understanding that no two events are alike and that your event is individual my price structure reflects this. You will receive a bespoke quote that includes my service at an hourly rate, full sound and lighting hire specific to your event and travel within the West Yorkshire area. Equipment set up is included in the cost and there are no hidden extras. I am also available for as few or as many hours as you require.

A non-refundable 50% deposit is requested at the time of booking with the balance due 2 weeks prior to your event. I mainly work in West Yorkshire but will consider venues outside this area if required. For your safety all my electrical equipment is PAT tested and I carry full public liability insurance required by most venues.
